Brands and agencies are extra creative in the run up to Christmas - we love being involved with so many festive promotions! Here are some 2023 Christmas activation highlights.
KATE SPADE NEW YORK
kate spade new york’s holiday tree at London Waterloo station was fabulous all by itself but the brand created additional magic with many other elements, resulting in a London takeover. From branded taxis to digital advertising – kate spade new york spread Christmas cheer throughout the city in a variety of ways. The footfall in London Waterloo station was over 7.4 million throughout this activation!
LUSH
LUSH’s Snow Fairy pop-up returned for the 2023 festive period! The holiday promotion visited a range of shopping centres including Victoria Centre Nottingham, Meadowhall, Glasgow Fort and Braehead and gave shoppers a chance to sample and purchase the limited-edition product line.
UBER
Uber took up Santa’s mantle to judge who had been ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’ with this Christmas promotion at London Waterloo station! Passers-by were invited to show their Uber rating to brand ambassadors to receive a unique gift based on their score.
YANKEE CANDLE
Yankee Candle delighted shoppers at a range of shopping centres in the UK, including The Centre Livingston with this activation during the festive period. Hyphen worked with the brand to create a makeover experience, with interested shoppers being able to receive a makeup look inspired by Yankee Candle’s winter fragrances.
RITTER SPORT
At Manchester Piccadilly station, Ritter Sport invited passers-by to tell Mrs Claus about their loved ones and grab some samples of chocolate.
PARAMOUNT+
Paramount+ toured the country with a festive choir singing songs from the platform’s content! Kinetic created a fabulous video to showcase the promotion:
HEATHROW EXPRESS
For the second year in a row, Heathrow Express brought festive cheer to London Paddington station! In addition to the beautiful Christmas Tree, the brand also created giant bauble seating – a perfect place for holiday photos. Brand ambassador elves could be found near the Heathrow Express platforms, allowing those heading to Heathrow airport to pick up a teddy bear and postcard to send from their travel destination! The footfall at London Paddington station reached over 3.6 million over the course of this promotion.
ASDA
ASDA worked with Electric Sunshine to create an exciting promotion at King’s Cross station to celebrate the launch of its Christmas ad! The activation involved a Christmas tree which only lit up when Michael Bublé’s festive hits were sung into it by passers-by.
NEOM
NEOM brought their Wellbeing Wishes Bus Tour to delight the public at King’s Cross station, Spinningfields and Liverpool ONE – interested passers-by were able to purchase NEOM products and try their luck at winning some great prizes by spinning the wheel.
LNER
LNER partnered with Wonka to create this magical chocolate wrapping station inspired by Wonka’s carts that feature prominently in the recently released film.
Passers-by at King’s Cross and Edinburgh Waverley stations were invited to either send a physical chocolate bar and message to a loved one, add their message to be shared on a screen built into the installation, or claim their own Wonka bars by sharing their messages of love on social media along with the campaign hashtag.
THE POLAR EXPRESS
Edinburgh Waverley station hosted a thrilling theatrical experience based on the 2004 film of the same name, created by PNP Events. The event was exciting for all ages and a fantastic holiday period attraction at the station! The footfall at Edinburgh Waverley station reached over 2.4 million over the days of this promotion!
TESCO
Tesco helped commuters at King’s Cross station ‘Become More Christmas’ with this show stopping activation! The promotion featured a billboard that slowly became more and more festive and eventually overflowed into the station physically to bring festive cheer to passers-by.
BOTIVO
Alcohol-free drink brand Botivo brought festive cheer to London Waterloo station with a sampling activation accompanied by piano playing!
